This project is a retelling of a classic trickster tale. Reynard the Fox was a popular figure from Dutch, German, French and English fables during the Middle Ages and until the Renaissance period. I wanted to convey the duality of Reynard through my spreads. The dark and the light, the family man vs the murderer. Simple silhouettes take on symbolic meaning, a black-letter typeface reflects the barbaric side of Reynard as well as being period-appropriate.
